Offers & payments

Create offers

The offer is the thing that can be bought. How to pick a type, set a price, attach content and publish so the checkout actually answers.

Updated October 2026

An offer is the only thing that can be bought in Idun Blue. The course is the content; the offer is the price and the access. The same course can be sold through several offers — a one-time price, an installment plan, a free taster — and you can link to the same offer from several pages and emails.

You’ll find them under Offers.

Before you start

An offer has to give access to something: a course, or at least one community room. If you have neither, Idun Blue says so and sends you to create a course first.

The five types

TypeNeeds StripeWhen to use it
FreeNoLead magnet, beta testers, taster.
InvoiceNoThe customer requests an invoice at checkout. You review the request and create the invoice in Idun.
One-timeYesOne price, one payment, permanent access.
SubscriptionYesRecurring payment until someone stops it.
InstallmentYesOne price split across several charges.

The type is chosen when you create the offer. Installment can’t be switched on afterwards on an offer that already exists — if you want to offer split payment, create a separate offer for it.

If you haven’t connected Stripe, the bottom three are off — the button that creates the offer is disabled until Stripe is there — and Idun Blue says why: “One-time, subscription and installment offers need an active Stripe account so payments go to you. Pick Free or Invoice if you don’t want to connect Stripe yet.”

It’s not a dead end. Create the offer as Free or Invoice now and change the type once Stripe is in place. See Connect Stripe.

Create the offer

  1. Go to Offers and click Create offer.
  2. Fill in:
    • Name — what the buyer sees. “Foundation course”, “Premium bundle”.
    • Image — shown in the offer list. Leave it empty and the course cover is used.
    • Type — see the table above.
    • Price — in whole units, for example 149. If it should be free, choose the Free type rather than typing 0.
    • Slug — the link name, generated for you.
  3. Choose what the offer gives access to: a course, one or more community rooms, or both.
  4. Save.

Publish

A saved offer isn’t buyable. Click Publish — that’s when the checkout answers.

If the price is missing the button is disabled and tells you why: “Set a price first — otherwise there’s nothing for the buy button to charge for.”

Check “what’s missing”

When you open an offer, Idun Blue lists what’s left before it’s ready to sell. The wording is concrete:

  • “Connect Stripe or turn on invoice payment — nobody can pay you yet.”
  • “Connect a page to this offer so buyers have somewhere to land.”
  • “Publish the page attached to this offer — right now nobody can reach it.”
  • “Publish at least one lesson so members have something to start with.”

Work through the list before you send traffic there. Every item is someone who otherwise clicks a button and goes nowhere.

The payment route is summed up in one line you can trust:

  • Buyers can pay by card or invoice
  • Buyers can pay by invoice — card payment needs Stripe
  • Nobody can pay you yet — neither card nor invoice is on

Sell more per purchase

Once the offer works you can add an add-on offer in the checkout or right after the purchase. See Add-on offers at checkout.

Tips

  • Name the offer the way you’d say it in a conversation, not like a product code.
  • Test with a real purchase before launch. Create a 1-unit offer, buy it yourself and refund it in Stripe.
  • One offer per price. To sell the same course both as one-time and installment, make two offers of the same course.

To invoice a customer directly without a checkout purchase, see Create and send an invoice.
