Connect Stripe

Without Stripe you can't take card payments. How to connect the account, how to read the status, and what to do if you'd rather wait.

Updated October 2026

Stripe takes the payments and puts the money in your bank account. Idun Blue charges 0% platform fee — you keep every unit of the sale. Stripe’s own card fee applies, and you pay that to Stripe.

This is the wall most people hit

Card payments require a connected Stripe account. Without Stripe you can create free offers and offers paid by invoice. Invoice payment requires invoicing to be switched on in the invoicing settings (Settings → Bookkeeping) and the offer to allow invoice. One-time, subscription and installment offers paid by card are off until the account is in place.

It doesn’t stop you from building. You can make the course, the pages and the offer, publish the pages and share the link. When you open the offer, Idun Blue shows what is missing before anyone can pay. Only once Stripe is connected can the buy button take card payments.

Connect the account

  1. Go to Settings → Payments.
  2. Click Connect Stripe account.
  3. You’re sent to Stripe. If you already have an account you log in; otherwise you create one — count on ten minutes.
  4. Stripe asks for what the law requires: business name or your own name, address, company or personal ID number, a bank account for payouts, and a description of what you sell. Have your ID nearby.
  5. When you’re done you land back in Idun Blue.

If you drop out halfway, nothing is lost. The page shows Signup in progress and a Continue signup button — you pick up where you left off.

Read the status

On Settings → Payments you can see where the account stands:

  • Connected and active — everything works, you can take payment.
  • Signup in progress — Stripe is waiting for you to finish.
  • Restricted — Stripe needs more information before money can be taken. Click Fix requirements and Stripe lists exactly what’s missing.

Below the status you’ll find country, currency, whether charges and payouts are enabled, and the date the account was connected.

If the currency doesn’t match

If your workspace shows prices in one currency but Stripe pays out in another, Idun Blue tells you: “Currency mismatch.” Click the button that suggests Stripe’s currency and the two line up. If you let them drift apart, the price on the page isn’t what the buyer gets charged.

Open Stripe

The Open Stripe Dashboard button takes you to your own overview at Stripe. That’s where you do the things that belong to them: look at individual payments, set your payout schedule, issue refunds and handle disputes.

Disconnect

Disconnect stops payments immediately. Your Stripe account stays with Stripe and can be reconnected without signing up again — but in the meantime nobody can buy from you.

If it doesn’t work

  • The connection won’t go through — check that you’re logged into the right Stripe account and that you finished their signup.
  • No payouts — check the bank account in Stripe and whether the account is marked restricted.
  • The currency isn’t available — not every Stripe account supports every currency. That’s decided by the country the account is registered in.
