Idun Blue vs Eventbrite — events, live room and replay in one workspace

Eventbrite sells and lists tickets. Idun Blue runs your workshop or webinar in its own live room in the browser, with sign-up, reminders, recording and replay tied to the same contacts, email and courses.

The Verdict

Eventbrite is a ticketing and event system with a public marketplace, where paid tickets carry fees that vary by country and currency. Idun Blue is built for the creator's own events: a sign-up page, a seat cap with a waitlist, reminders that send themselves and its own live room in the browser, or your Zoom or Meet link. The session is recorded, the replay gets subtitles and can become a course lesson. Every sign-up becomes a contact in the same register as your email, courses and purchases. The same price includes courses, website, mailing list, community, bookings and Idun AI.

The short version

Eventbrite sells and lists tickets. Idun Blue runs the event itself and takes care of what comes after. You broadcast from your own live room in the browser, attendees land in your contact list, the replay becomes a course lesson and the follow-up goes out from the same system.

Eventbrite’s current fee model

Eventbrite’s official help pages were checked on 21 August 2026. They state that organisers can publish events for free and that free tickets have no Ticketing Fees. Paid tickets, add-ons and donations carry country- and currency-specific Ticketing Fees. The attendee pays them by default, though the organiser can choose to absorb them. Optional paid marketing tools and Pro plans can add cost.

Eventbrite also has a public marketplace for discovery, organiser and attendee apps, onsite workflows and advertising. The exact fee is checked in the organiser’s Eventbrite settings. See Eventbrite’s current pricing explanation.

Idun Blue is free during the beta and then costs SEK 1,000 a month excl. VAT, for the whole platform. Signing up for an Idun event is free for the attendee; tickets are not sold through an offer today.

How an event works in Idun Blue

You create the event in Studio and share the sign-up link. Whoever signs up gets a confirmation with a calendar file, reminders 24 hours and one hour before the start, and an email when you go live. If you move the start time, the reminders move with it. If you set a seat cap, later sign-ups go to the waitlist.

You broadcast in Idun’s own live room straight from the browser, or add a link to Zoom, Meet or similar. In the live room you choose between everyone being seen and heard or stage mode, where only the hosts broadcast. You can mute microphones, bring someone from the audience on to speak and let attendees raise a hand.

After the event

Switch on recording and the session is saved. The replay gets subtitles and a transcript, can be shown on the event page and can be turned into an unpublished lesson in a course. An automation can start for the people who attended and for those who signed up but never came.

Sign-up creates or updates the same contact used by email, courses, bookings and purchases, and marketing consent is only recorded if the person ticks the box herself. Broadcasts and sequences can be tied to the event’s start time.

The same price includes courses, community, website and pages, email and automations, bookings, Instagram planning and link in bio. You switch events on under Settings → Features. Idun AI works directly in the workspace, and you can connect your own ChatGPT or Claude.

Switch to Idun Blue if

  • you run workshops, launches and live sessions for your own audience and want to broadcast without a separate meeting tool.
  • you want every sign-up in your mailing list and in the same contact register as your customers.
  • you want the replay to become a course lesson with subtitles, instead of a file to upload somewhere else.
  • you want automatic follow-up, different for those who came and those who did not.
  • you want events, courses, website and email in one price instead of several tools.
