The image is processed on your device
The model separates a person from the background and preserves soft edges such as hair better than a simple colour selection. Use the result in a thumbnail, profile photo, course page or presentation.
This model is not made for every subject. Products, animals, text, several small people and illustrations can produce rough edges or disappear. That limit is shown before processing.
On first use, a quantised model of about seven megabytes is downloaded from Hugging Face together with its browser compute runtime. The cache can be reused afterwards. Your image is never sent to Idun or the model host.
The result is exported as a transparent PNG. There is no watermark, image quota or server queue because the computation happens on your device.
