Getting started
How to work with AI in Idun
For anyone new to AI: where it is, how to ask so it comes out right, how to review, and what is always your decision.
Never worked with AI before? Picture a knowledgeable assistant who writes fast and never gets tired, but can’t read your mind. It makes the first draft. You review, change and decide.
You don’t need any technical skills. You write the way you would write to a person.
Where the AI is
Idun AI is everywhere in Studio. Open it with Idun AI at the bottom of the menu on the left, or with the cloud icon at the top right. The panel opens next to what you’re working on and sees the same page as you. If you’re in a course you can write “make lesson two shorter” without saying which course.
Idun AI is included in your plan. How much you’ve used this month is under Settings → AI.
If you’d rather use the ChatGPT or Claude you already pay for, you can. Read Use your own ChatGPT or Claude. The way you work is the same.
The old way and the new
Everything in Studio can still be done by hand, field by field. The AI is a faster way to a first draft.
| By hand | With AI | |
|---|---|---|
| A course | Create the course, add modules, write each lesson | ”Make a six-module course from my notes. Save as a draft.” Then you review. |
| A welcome email | Open Email, write subject and text | ”Write a welcome email to new buyers of Everyday Calm, in my tone.” |
| A sales page | Pick a template, fill in each section | ”Build a sales page for the offer Breathe Out with my images. Save as a draft.” |
| A question | Dig through the statistics | ”How did the last 7 days go?” |
Start with something you already know how you want. You’ll quickly see what the AI does well and where you want to change things.
How to ask
A good task has four parts. You don’t need all of them every time, but the more you give, the closer it gets.
- What should be done. “Three emails”, “a sales page”, “a four-module course”.
- What to start from. An offer that already exists, texts you’ve written, a page, your notes. Paste them in or attach them with the paperclip.
- What should apply. Tone, length, audience, and what must not change.
- What to do with the result. Usually: “Save as a draft and give me the link.”
The same task, vague and clear:
Write emails.
Write three emails to people who downloaded my free guide Calm Mornings. One a day, short and personal, in the same tone as my About page. The last email invites them to the course Everyday Calm. Save as a draft in a new sequence.
The first gives you something generic. The second gives you something you can use.
Let the suggestions show the way
When you open Idun AI you see a few suggestions for the page you are on, such as Review the course or Write a newsletter. Pick one and a complete task lands in the box. The parts only you know are in square brackets, like [what you want to tell them]. Type over them, press Tab to jump to the next one and send with Enter. Nothing is sent until you press it.
Not sure what it can do on that page? Pick What can you do here? and you get three example tasks for the page. If you don’t know where to start at all, pick I don’t know where to start. Idun AI then asks what you need help with, one question at a time with answers to tap, and suggests a task.
A conversation, not an order
The first answer is rarely the last. Keep going in the same conversation and say what to change:
- “Shorter.”
- “More like how I talk. Less salesy.”
- “Keep emails one and two, rewrite email three.”
- “Change the headline to something with the word rest.”
The AI remembers what you’ve said in the conversation. When you start something completely new, press New thread (the plus sign in the panel), so the tasks don’t get mixed up.
Always review
The AI can get things wrong, misunderstand or make up a detail. So:
- Open the draft from the link it gives you, and read it the way your customer would.
- Check the facts: prices, dates, names, promises and what the course contains.
- Edit directly in the editor when that’s quickest, or ask the AI to change it.
Reviews, numbers and results should come from you. Never ask the AI to make them up.
What is always your decision
The AI only publishes, sends, charges, deletes or changes someone’s access when you have explicitly asked for exactly that. “Prepare a broadcast” does not mean “send it”. Idun AI also shows a proposal and waits for you to confirm before anything is published or sent.
If an AI changed something you didn’t want, you can often undo it. The changes are under Settings → Your own AI → Changes, with Undo where possible.
Teach it your voice
Under Settings → AI → Your voice, paste a few texts you wrote yourself, such as emails, newsletters or sales copy. Press Analyze my voice. From then on the AI writes more like you and less like a robot.
There you can also give the assistant its own name. The name applies to the whole workspace.
Good first tasks
Start with something that only reads, so you get to know it:
- “How did the last 7 days go?”
- “What should I prioritise today?”
- “What’s missing before my offer Breathe Out can be bought?”
Then something that creates a draft:
- Website: “Rewrite the text on my home page so it sounds more like me. Save as a draft.”
- Course: “Make a course plan for a six-week course on stress for parents of small children. Save as a draft.”
- Email: “Write a newsletter about the autumn workshop. Save as a draft.”
- Offer: “Create an offer for the workshop Breathe Out, 490 SEK, with a short sales text. Don’t publish.”
When it doesn’t turn out as you thought
| What happens | Do this |
|---|---|
| The answer is too general | Give more to work from: a text you wrote, who it’s for, what must be included. |
| It did something other than you meant | Say what went wrong and what you wanted. Correcting it is normal. |
| It changed the wrong thing | Name the course, page or email you mean. Open that page first if you can. |
| The conversation got messy | Press New thread and start again with a clear task. |
| It says AI isn’t available | Try again in a while. You can always do the same thing yourself in Studio. |
Common questions
Do I have to use AI? No. Everything can be done by hand in Studio. The AI is a faster way to a first draft.
What can the AI see? What you yourself have access to in your workspace, when the task needs it. Idun AI runs in the EU.
Can it send something to my customers by mistake? No. Sending and publishing need you to ask for it explicitly and confirm.
Why doesn’t it sound like me? Add your texts under Your voice, and paste a text you like into the task: “write in this tone”.
