Connect a custom domain
Swap yourworkspace.idun.blue for your own address. Exactly which DNS record to add, and what to do when verification won't go through.
To begin with, your public pages live at yourworkspace.idun.blue. Connect your own domain and visitors see your name instead: courses.yourbrand.com.
Two addresses, two places
This trips a lot of people up:
yourworkspace.idun.blueis set under Settings → Workspace. It’s your slug plus.idun.blue.- Your own domain is connected under Settings → Domains.
If you go looking for the subdomain under Domains you won’t find it. It lives in Workspace.
What you need
- A domain you own, from any provider — Namecheap, GoDaddy, one.com, Cloudflare.
- Access to the domain’s DNS settings. It’s usually a tab called “DNS” or “Nameservers” wherever you bought the domain.
If you’re not sure you have it: log in where you bought the domain and look for DNS. If you can find it, you have what’s needed.
The wizard
The easiest route is the wizard.
- Go to Settings → Domains and click Connect domain.
- Domain — type the address you want to use, for example
courses.yourbrand.com. - DNS — Idun Blue shows the record to add. Every value has a copy button.
- Verify — click Verify DNS. The wizard keeps checking every thirty seconds until it goes through.
- SSL — the certificate is issued automatically. You do nothing.
- Done — you get a clickable link marked Active.
The wizard first asks how you want to connect the domain. Point one address here means you keep your current DNS provider and add one record there — simplest for a subdomain like courses.yourbrand.com. Move the whole domain to Idun means you change the nameservers where you bought the domain; then both yourbrand.com and www.yourbrand.com work, and the switch can take a few hours. The steps above and the DNS record below are for the first way.
The domain also shows under Website → Domain & redirects.
The DNS record
It’s one CNAME record:
| Type | Name | Value |
|---|---|---|
| CNAME | your domain | proxy.idun.blue |
Sometimes Cloudflare also asks for a TXT record to confirm you own the domain. If it appears in the wizard, add it too. If it doesn’t, it isn’t needed.
If you use Cloudflare for your domain: turn the proxy on (the orange cloud) and set SSL mode to Full. The wizard reminds you of both.
How long it takes
Usually a few minutes. In the worst case DNS can take up to 48 hours to propagate, but that’s rare these days.
Meanwhile yourworkspace.idun.blue keeps working. Nothing goes down while you wait.
Test it
When the status is Active, open the address in a window where you’re not logged in:
- The page loads.
- The address bar shows your domain.
- The padlock is there.
- The buy buttons go where they should.
If verification won’t go through
- Check the value character by character. An extra dot at the end or a stray space is enough to stop it.
- Check you added the record to the right domain. With several domains at the same provider it’s easy to land in the wrong one.
- Wait half an hour and try again. DNS sometimes needs to settle.
- Remove conflicting records. If there’s already an A or CNAME record on the same name, it has to go — two records on one name give unpredictable results.

Once it’s done
Your website’s pages, the blog and the checkout use your domain. The links you copy in Studio pick up the new address automatically.
Links you already shared with .idun.blue keep working.
Tips
- Use a subdomain:
courses.yourbrand.comormembers.yourbrand.com. It’s the simplest to set up and doesn’t disturb your existing website. - Connect the domain before a launch, not in the middle of one. Changing address the day after you emailed a hundred people only creates confusion.
- Write down where you bought the domain and which account it’s under. It’s the detail everyone has forgotten by the time it’s needed.
